As a confidence coach I beleive that it is important to keep my own confidence high, which means taking good care of myself. I have a duty to myself to keep my self esteem at a level where I am proud of myself and all that I achieve. As 2010 approaches I have spent considerable time thinking about the next couple of years and how I want to challenge myself. This years challenge whilst being extremely daunting, really excites me.

The challenge

On April 30th 2011 I am hoping to join a group of women on a five day 450km cycle ride through China.

Why would I put myself through this?

Firstly: To raise funds for ground breaking medical research to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions affecting women and their babies. This includes brain injury, miscarriage, infertility, cancer and genetic diseases such as cystic fribrosis and muscular dystraphy.

Secondly: To challenge my fitness levels beyond recognition!

Lastly: To have an adventure exploring China.

How do I begin!

In reality, right now I can cycle for about 45mins...... there's a long way to go

In order to make things easier I have set myself the following small milestones

  1. To be able to ride an exercise bike for a whole day- to be achieved by the end of Jan 2010

  2. To ride 60km on my road bike - by the end of March 2010

  3. To ride the Manchester to Blackpool cycle race

Success is possible . . . You have only one life, how would you feel if you could get rid of the doubts and move towards fulfilling your goals and dreams. The desire to be a professional footballer may no longer be there but what does your future hold for you now.
