Do you see your life as going downhill from here? Or do you still have dreams and aspirations? My 9 year old son recently announced to me that he is going to be a Professional Footballer or a Scientist and he is going to earn a lot of money. As adults we climb aboard the treadmill of life and often find ourselves peddling hard just to keep afloat. What happened to our aspirations and dreams for the future. I believe they are still there, though they may have changed shape. Unfortunately they seem to get hidden behind a range of excuses and an increase in self doubt. Losing weight: I've tried every diet going but they don't work for me. I might as well keep on eating. Fitness: I'm not as young as I used to be. I'm far too busy to exercise. Money: I never was as clever as Archie, I'll never be able to earn what he earns. Career: I always wanted to be a nurse but I guess it's too late for me now. Parenting: I'm an awful mother I'm always shouting at the kids. Relationships: No one's going to want me, my life is so dull. I'm well past my best. Retirement: Now that I'm retired there's nothing much left for me now, gardening is not really my thing.
